Samsung Electronics launched its clip-on wireless earbuds, the Galaxy Buds On, in Korea on Oct. 27. The open-ear design targets users who want to listen to music while still staying aware of what's happening around them.

According to an announcement from Samsung Electronics on Oct. 26, the earbuds are sold in a single black color with a list price of 299,000 won. They are available through online channels such as Samsung.com and open marketplaces, as well as offline at Samsung Store locations nationwide.

The earbuds feature a shape-memory alloy clip that bends to fit the contours of the ear. Samsung said the product includes a speaker tuned for enhanced bass, technology to reduce sound leakage, and features designed to improve call quality.

Because the design doesn't seal the ear canal, however, sound may still leak out depending on volume, fit, and ambient noise. Those planning to use the earbuds in quiet settings may want to try them in-store first to check fit and sound leakage.

Samsung said that when paired with a Galaxy AI-supported smartphone or tablet, users can call up AI features by voice, control functions with head movements, and use a voice memo feature. Specific support varies by connected device.

For purchases made between Oct. 27 and Nov. 30, Samsung is offering buyers two 30%-off coupons valid on select accessories at Samsung.com, available through a promotional event page and usable through Dec. 20.
