[Diary Point | Reporter Um Ju-yong] SSG Day runs through Nov. 8. SSG.com is offering a 12% coupon, capped at 50,000 won, on purchases of at least 10,000 won, and an 8% coupon, capped at 150,000 won, on purchases of at least 70,000 won. A separate 12% coupon, capped at 20,000 won, applies to department-store items on purchases of at least 30,000 won.
Separate from SSG Day, the Korea Grand Festival runs through Nov. 15. According to the event’s official information, it covers consumer spending nationwide, including online shopping. A receipt-and-post submission event also runs during the same period, but it does not offer an instant discount; winners are selected to receive prizes.
Compare coupon caps, not just discount rates
SSG Day coupons depend on both the purchase threshold and the maximum discount. The discount rate in the 70,000-won tier is lower at 8%, but its cap is higher at 150,000 won. The coupon information page does not specify whether these offers can be combined with other coupons, so select a coupon in your cart and check whether it applies.
Card discounts may not apply across the entire promotion. At checkout, check which cards qualify, the minimum spend, the discount cap and the offer period. Also confirm whether the benefit is calculated on the amount after coupons are applied. Interest-free installments are different from an instant discount, so distinguish them from savings deducted from the final total.
Free-shipping terms and delivery estimates vary by item
The official SSG Day promotion information does not separately state shipping fees or coupon-stacking terms. Check the product page and order form to see whether the seller or SSG.com handles delivery, whether free shipping has a minimum purchase amount, and whether extra fees apply to remote areas. For grocery orders, also check whether you can choose a delivery date and time slot before paying.
Black Friday in the United States is scheduled for Nov. 27, but sale start dates and discount terms at Korean online retailers vary by company. The dates currently listed on the official pages are Nov. 8 for the end of SSG Day and Nov. 15 for the end of the Korea Grand Festival. Check retailers’ separate announcements for any sales after those dates.
