[DiaryPoint=Reporter Choi Seung-jin] The Jinju International Agriculture & Food Expo opened Nov. 4 at Jinju Sports Complex and runs for five days through Nov. 8. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors can combine agricultural technology displays and hands-on activities with a family outing and a chance to shop for food and farm products.

This year, 273 companies from 17 countries are operating 530 booths. The exhibition is organized into seven themed halls and an outdoor event area. The Agricultural Equipment Hall showcases smart farm machinery and automated systems, while the Green Food Hall displays and sells specialty products from the region. The Seed and Life Hall features traditional Korean seeds.

Hands-on activities take place indoors and outdoors

Agricultural Experience Hall 1 offers 16 activities focused on crafts and gardening, while Hall 2 has six activities, including crafts, fragrance and gardening programs. Options include making rice-flour doughnuts, naturally dyeing handkerchiefs and planting in pots. Outdoor livestock and dairy booths also offer food activities, such as making ice cream and tasting milk.

Indoor activities cost 1,000 won per person, payable in cash only. Online advance reservations are available for sessions from Nov. 4 to 6, with bookings taken by time slot. Reservations close at 6 p.m. the day before each activity, and the fee must be deposited into the designated account by 6 p.m. on the day of the activity to confirm the booking. Confirmed visitors can exchange their reservation for a coupon at the experience hall’s event-day information desk.

Outdoor livestock and dairy activities can be booked on site without an advance reservation. They cost 1,000 won; milk tasting is free. For reservations and activity inquiries, call 055-263-9637. Check the official reservation information before visiting for availability and remaining places in each session.

Pair the expo with a chrysanthemum exhibition

The Jinju Chrysanthemum Art Exhibition is also taking place in the same venue area through Nov. 8. Visitors can plan their time depending on whether they want to see only the expo or include the outdoor exhibition as well. The venue is at 415 Dongjin-ro, Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province. City bus routes 150, 280, 281, 290, 292, 293, 300 and 301 stop at Jinju Sports Complex.

Because the venue is large, visitors hoping to see the exhibits and join activities may find it easier to choose their activity times first and plan their route around them. The article does not list parking details or a general admission price because specific terms could not be confirmed in the available official information. The expo continues through Sunday, Nov. 8.
