[DiaryPoint reporter Park Bo-young] Shin Min-a, Lee Jin-wook and Teo Yoo will star in MBC’s new Friday–Saturday drama “Wednesday to Friday.” MBC announced the casting and its plan to air the series in the first half of 2027 on November 5. The drama will have 12 episodes, and a premiere date has not yet been announced. Some earlier reports had floated January 2027, but MBC’s official schedule announcement on November 5 specified only the first half of 2027.
Set at a restaurant that opens only Wednesday through Friday, “Wednesday to Friday” follows a first love reunited after 12 years and explores love, forgiveness and growth. The restaurant’s name reflects the days it operates. The romance unfolds through the relationships among its three central characters.
Shin Min-a plays Cha Eun-su, who, after parting ways with her first love, has become another man’s wife but still longs for a life of her own. She returns to her former lover, Kim Dong-woo, while concealing her intentions. Shin previously played dentist Yoon Hye-jin in tvN’s 2021 drama “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” and Min Seon-a in 2022’s “Our Blues.” In a 2023 interview ahead of the film “Our Season,” she said, “Even now, 26 years into my career, acting is fun.”
Lee Jin-wook plays Kim Dong-woo, the chef at the restaurant Wednesday to Friday, who lives with the memory of failing to hold on to his first love. He appeared as a lawyer in the 2025 drama “Beyond the Bar.” In the new series, chef Kim reunites with Cha Eun-su, played by Shin Min-a, 12 years after they were lovers.
Teo Yoo plays Lee Won-pil, Cha Eun-su’s husband and an executive director at Hankoo Construction. He is capable and wealthy, but awkward in love, with a twisted desire to protect someone. Yoo starred as Hae-sung in the film “Past Lives,” which screened in competition at the 2023 Berlin International Film Festival. The past and present relationships of the three characters become intertwined around the restaurant.
The series is directed by Jung Dong-yoon, whose credits include “Stove League” and the “Gyeongseong Creature” series. Joo Hyun, writer of “The World of the Married” and “Ms. Temper & Nam Jung-gi,” is writing the screenplay. Kang Eun-kyung, known for the “Dr. Romantic” series and “Bread, Love and Dreams,” is participating as creator. “Wednesday to Friday” is scheduled to reach viewers as an MBC Friday–Saturday drama in the first half of 2027.
