[DiaryPoint = Reporter Kim Jeong-hun] Samsung defeated KT 10–5 in Game 4 of the Korean Series on the 7th at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu. The series now stands at 3–1 in Samsung’s favor, leaving the team one win short of the title in the best-of-seven matchup. Samsung has won three straight after dropping Game 1.

Game 5 is scheduled for 2 p.m. today, the 8th, at the same ballpark. A Samsung win would clinch the Korean Series, while a KT victory would send the matchup to Game 6. Lee Jae-hee, the winning pitcher in Game 4 and the game’s daily MVP, entered with two outs in the fifth and threw 2⅔ hitless innings, striking out four without allowing a run.

Samsung seized early control by scoring six runs in the bottom of the first in Game 4. Reports by the KBO, South Korea’s professional baseball league, and The Fact said the six runs broke the Korean Series record for most runs in the first inning, previously five. Samsung had set the former mark against KIA in 2024. KT pulled within three with three runs in the top of the fifth, but Samsung widened the gap again on Park Seung-gyu’s two-run double in the bottom half, then added another run in the seventh.

After losing Game 1, Samsung has taken Games 2, 3 and 4 in a row. Park Seung-gyu led the offense in Game 4, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs. A championship would be Samsung’s first Korean Series title since 2014, 12 years ago. KT must end its three-game skid after winning the opener to keep the series going in Daegu.

All 23,550 seats were sold for Game 4. MoneyToday reported that the sellout extended the Korean Series streak to 25 consecutive games and that every postseason game has been sold out since Game 1 of the 2023 Korean Series. Total postseason attendance reached 276,050.

The TV schedule lists MBC’s Game 5 broadcast from 1:40 p.m. to 5:25 p.m. The game itself begins at 2 p.m.; viewers can check MBC’s channel listings for details.
