[DiaryPoint = Reporter Park Bo-young] Singer Song Ha-ye and creator-musician Jo Maeryeok will marry today, Nov. 8, at a wedding venue in Seoul’s Gangnam District. Both were born in 1994. Their wedding date was announced last month through Jo’s agency, Niche Music.
Song first shared the news in August in a handwritten letter posted on social media. “I met someone who cherishes me as I am and stands by my side in every moment, and I’m getting married this year,” she wrote.
The two first met in March while filming content for Jo’s YouTube channel. They stayed in touch after appearing together on the channel, and in a video released Aug. 31, Jo and Song talked about their relationship and wedding preparations.
Song appeared on audition shows including SBS’s K-pop Star 2 before making her official debut with the 2014 single “It’s My First Time.” Her releases include the 2019 songs “Your News” and “New Love,” and she has also contributed to drama soundtracks, including Hotel Del Luna and Business Proposal.
Jo runs the YouTube channel “Charming Jo 조매력,” where he shares music and entertainment content. He also leads Annoying Box, an 18-member big band project, and his channel has more than 1 million subscribers.
The day before the wedding, both posted messages on social media about the occasion. “I’m getting married tomorrow. Thanks to the help of so many people, everything is ready. I’m grateful,” Jo wrote. Song also shared a photo of the two together with the caption, “We’re getting married tomorrow.”
