[Diary Point reporter Park Bo-young] Episode 9 of ENA’s Monday–Tuesday drama ‘Love Doctor,’ starring Choo Young-woo and Kim So-hyun, drew a nationwide rating of 2.8%, with a minute-by-minute peak of 3.2%—a new series high. Episode 10 airs on ENA at 10 p.m. on Nov. 3.
The figures are based on paid households, according to Nielsen Korea. Episode 9’s nationwide average was up 0.1 percentage point from 2.7% for episode 8, while its peak rating was 0.4 points above the average at 3.2%. Rather than a sharp jump, the show has set a new high for two episodes in a row.
A year after their breakup, the truth comes out
In episode 9, Park Min-jae and Im Yu-jin met again for the first time in a year after Min-jae left for a postdoctoral research position in the United States. Yu-jin had resented him, believing he left because he no longer loved her, but she learned the real reason for the breakup when they reunited.
After a tumor was found in Min-jae’s lung and his chances of survival became uncertain, he ended the relationship without warning because he did not want to leave Yu-jin alone. Learning the truth, Yu-jin opened up about the pain she had endured while believing she had been abandoned. Min-jae, however, said he had heard she was getting married and told her to put her lingering feelings in order. Yu-jin turned away again, upset that he was trying to decide what she felt for her.
The scene did not turn their reunion into an immediate reconciliation. Instead, it laid out both the circumstances that came to light too late and the hurt they left behind. At the end of the episode, scenes of Lee Ji-hoon comforting Yu-jin and Min-jae watching them were intercut, leaving viewers wondering where the three characters’ relationships will go next.

Disney+’s official episode guide says episode 10 will show Ji-hoon revealing his feelings for Yu-jin and Yu-jin meeting Min-jae again at a welcome party, where he returns as a new professor. The broadcast will show whether the truth about the breakup revealed in episode 9 changes their relationship.
