[DiaryPoint = Reporter Eom Ju-yong] Kyowon Wells launched the Mineral Loess Mat Plus on November 4, increasing the loess-ball content by 10% compared with the previous model. The company said it would discount monthly rental fees by up to 17%, depending on the model, throughout November.

The new model contains 11.5 kg of loess balls, and its standard temperature can be adjusted from 20°C to 60°C in 1°C increments. It also adds heat-therapy and lower-back heat-therapy modes, an off timer in one-hour increments, and a lock function. The queen-size version lets users set separate temperatures for the left and right sides and includes a “Bedding Fresh” mode that uses 35°C heat to reduce moisture inside the bedding.

Prices on the official site are for the previous model

On the day of launch, Kyowon Wells’ official product page listed the previous Mineral Loess Mat models HF25-1, HF25-2, and HF25-3. For the queen-size model on a six-year installment plan, the listed monthly payment is 28,900 won, for a total of 2,080,800 won; the special price shown on the page is 26,900 won per month. These prices are not for the new Plus model, so customers should confirm the model number before signing a contract.

The official specifications for the previous queen-size model list dimensions of 150 cm wide, 200 cm long, and 10 cm high, with a weight of 28 kg. The official page says the product comes with one custom-fit cover and one year of free after-sales service, excluding damage caused by the customer. Publicly available materials did not show the Plus model’s standard rental fees by model or total contract cost.

The previous queen-size model weighs 28 kg

At 10 cm high, the previous queen-size model is not designed to fold away as easily as a lightweight electric heating pad. Unlike a hot-water mat, its product specifications do not list a boiler or water tank; it uses electric temperature controls.

The 11.5 kg figure refers to the loess balls used as filling inside the product, not the weight of the entire mat. The previous model’s product page lists the included cover and warranty terms. Since the monthly payment cannot be calculated from the discount percentage alone, customers should ask which model the offer covers, the contract term, the minimum required usage period, the fee after the discount ends, and any cancellation charges.

Kyowon Wells said its original loess mat surpassed 10,000 cumulative sales within a year of launch. The company’s description of far-infrared rays is promotional material. Customers should check whether the new model’s price and detailed care terms are published on the official sales page.
