[Diary Point = Reporter Park Bo-young] SHINee’s Minho placed third in the men’s 35–39 division of the amateur race at the 2026 Tongyeong World Triathlon Cup, held October 25 in Tongyeong, South Gyeongsang Province, with a time of 2:27:14. His race journey was featured on the November 6 episode of MBC’s “I Live Alone.”
The standard triathlon course covers 1.5 kilometers of swimming, 40 kilometers of cycling and 10 kilometers of running, for a total of 51.5 kilometers. Minho’s official splits were 26:39 for the swim, 1:14:55 for the cycling leg and 40:52 for the run.
His placement was in the amateur men’s 35–39 age group, not the overall standings for the full field. An Bong-jun took first in the division at 2:06:03, followed by Choi Myeong-su at 2:15:10.
The Korea Triathlon Federation’s results table lists Minho’s total time as 2:27:14. A federation event update also identified him as third in the same division, but gave his time as 2:27:13. The results table lists the segment distances as 1.5 kilometers swimming, 40 kilometers cycling and 10 kilometers running.
The broadcast also showed Minho colliding with another competitor during the swim and dealing with a bicycle problem on the rainy cycling leg. A preview clip featured him saying, “My mental game suddenly just fell apart.”
Minho’s challenge drew renewed attention the day after the episode aired, with the race result and distances for all three legs making the scale of the event easy to grasp. “I Live Alone” is an MBC variety show, and this episode followed Minho’s participation in the Tongyeong race.
