[DiaryPoint = Reporter Choi Seung-jin] Lando Norris (McLaren) won the Formula 1 (F1) Grand Prix at Interlagos in São Paulo, Brazil, on November 8. Mercedes clinched the 2026 Constructors’ Championship after George Russell finished fourth and Kimi Antonelli fifth. According to F1’s official team standings, Mercedes remained on top after the São Paulo GP with 652 points, 140 ahead of second-place Ferrari (512).

Norris beat Max Verstappen (Red Bull) by 14.602 seconds in the 71-lap race. Isack Hadjar (Red Bull) finished third, while Norris claimed his third win of the season. Red Bull sits third in the team standings with 415 points, combining the results of Verstappen and Hadjar, while McLaren is fourth with 398.

The race began on a wet track, dried out, then saw rain return late in the afternoon. Starting from 21st on the grid, Verstappen fought his way up to second. Antonelli, who had led early, finished fifth after spinning twice. Norris took the lead when Antonelli slid off at the first corner on lap 20. The circuit, officially known as Autódromo José Carlos Pace and often called Interlagos, hosted a 71-lap race.

Russell and Antonelli’s fourth- and fifth-place finishes sealed Mercedes’ team title. It is the team’s ninth Constructors’ Championship overall and its first since 2021. Their points haul put the title beyond reach in the contest with Ferrari. F1’s official team standings list Ferrari on 512 points and Red Bull on 415, behind Mercedes.

F1’s next stop is the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Practice begins on November 19 local time, followed by qualifying on the 20th and the race at 8 p.m. on the 21st. The Las Vegas Grand Prix is scheduled to run for 50 laps or a maximum of 120 minutes on the Las Vegas Strip Circuit. F1 lists the track length as 6.201 km. On race day, the drivers’ parade is scheduled for 6 p.m. local time, followed by the national anthem at 7:44 p.m.
